4Vets Mission:
4Vets was created by CEO Joseph Walterbach, a Vietnam USAF Veteran, who has a simple philosophy: "Help Veterans get discounts where they eat, shop, stay or get services for themselves and their families without haggling or begging."
Our Mission at 4Vets is to connect Veterans with Local Businesses that offer special discounts for Veterans.
Here is the story of how this website began. One night, Joe and his wife went out to dinner. While dining, a Vietnam Veteran at another table asked the server if the restaurant provided a Veteran Discount. The server rudely replied "No" and the attitude could be felt across the restaurant. Joe, irritated at the server's response, asked the manager why there wasn't a policy in place to give Veterans some recognition for their service to our country. The manager, never been asked this before, agreed that a Veteran Discount was a great idea. The manager created a 10% discount Veteran Discount and gave both Veterans a free desert too.
From that night, Joe decided to bring the idea into the public and produce a website to help connect local businesses and Veterans where they can receive "special treatment." The businesses would pay a small fee to list their company's information and guarantee they were Veteran-friendly by offering specials to Veterans. Veterans are able to use the website as a tool to find special discounts and save them the embarrassment of being rejected when inquiring about Veteran Discounts.
Joe's idea has been more successful than he imagined. Many businesses love the concept and want to help Veterans in their community. Many businesses are adopting new Veteran-friendly policies. Not only does this website can bring companies more customers, but this also displays to the public that they are patriotic and empathetic to the brave men and women who have sacrificed for their country.
